How do I use Recapture's AI Assistant (Reva)

What is Reva?

Meet Recapture's newest team member, the Recapture Virtual Assistant, or Reva for short.

Reva helps you write, rewrite, and fine-tune your email campaigns with powerful AI, directly inside the Recapture email editor. Use simple prompts to improve tone, formatting, styling, and conversion—whether you're editing an entire email or just a single content block.

What Can Reva Help You Do?

Reva is built to assist with:

  • Rewriting emails to match your brand voice
  • Making design tweaks like aligning with store colors
  • Improving subject lines, CTAs, and body copy
  • Generating engaging product descriptions
  • Writing in the style of popular brands or influencers
  • Fixing grammar, spelling, or flow
  • Translating content for international audiences

All without you having to do the grunt work of research, planning and drafting the content yourself. Reva takes seconds to do what would require hours from you or your team.

Reva is your marketing wizard, email assistant and conversion rate guru all rolled into one. In short, Reva helps you make all aspects of your email campaigns better, more compelling to your customers, and more likely to convert them into sales.

Can I Edit What Reva Produces?

ABSOLUTELY! Reva's content is just like any other email you create in Recapture, human or otherwise. Once the content is generated, you can edit it to your liking (and we encourage that, because when you combine Reva's output with your experience and knowledge, you get something amazing in the end!)

Where to Find Reva in the Email Editor

Open any email campaign or automation in Recapture. Here's an example in the abandoned cart editor. Start by picking and editing any campaign, like this one:

Now, click on the Designer tab if you're not already on it:

At the top right-side of your email editor, look for the row of blue buttons and, click on the Robot icon to open Reva's prompt editor:

You'll get this prompt:

Type your prompt and click the Apply button. Reva will process your request and make real-time updates to the email.

You can also upload screenshots or images in addition to the prompt text—just click the paperclip icon on the right side and add an image BEFORE you click Apply.

This allows you to say things like "Using this image that is attached, please make my email look more like it in style, tone and color scheme".

Reva can also be found at the block level, using the 3-dot menu for any block in Recapture:

And you'll see this in the menu:

The resulting prompt is very similar, but adds two new options for block-level changes vs. entire template:

You can do global email changes (for the entire content) or you can limit them to block-level only, which helps keep Reva focused on that particular aspect of your email.

Block-Level Editing vs. Full Email Editing

You can use Reva in two ways:

  • Block-Level Editing: Select the AI Assistant for a block (using the 3-dot menu on the right side of the block), then ask Reva to improve, rewrite, or stylize it.
  • Full Email Editing: Run a prompt that applies across your entire email. Great for tone, brand alignment, or layout alteration.

Full-level email editing is available from the toolbar at the top right. Block-level editing is available from the 3-dot menu to the right of any block in the email editor.

Example Prompts To Help Create Better Emails

Maybe you're new to AI or aren't sure what you can ask Reva. Don't worry, we've got you covered! Use these as inspiration or paste them directly:

“Make my email match my store’s color scheme at https://mystore.com.”
    • Great for existing emails, or when you make a branding adjustment and need to update your templates! Reva will adjust button colors, background, and accent elements to align with your Shopify/Ecwid/WooCommerce store’s look.
“Update all of the buttons in this email to use a stronger CTA instead of Checkout Now”
    • Reva will take the text of any buttons and improve your call-to-action text on them.
“Rewrite this email in the tone of Dollar Shave Club—funny, casual, and bold.”
    • Get a fresh take with humor and edge that converts.
“Improve this abandoned cart email to be more persuasive for someone shopping for handmade jewelry.”
    • Reva will personalize language and highlight emotional value for artisanal products.
“Write a version of this email that emphasizes urgency without sounding pushy.”
    • Great for time-sensitive campaigns that still feel respectful and professional.
"Add a bullet list that makes the benefits of my product crystal clear—short and punchy.”
    • Perfect for small stores with limited time to explain value.
"Using this image that is attached, please make my email look more like it in style, tone and color scheme"
    • Allows you to include an image in the prompt and then make changes to your email, based on what can be found in the image. (Be sure to use the paperclip icon on the right side of the prompt editor to include the image!)

Does Reva Use My Store’s Data?

Reva does understand some limited information that Recapture already has about your store (e.g. contact information for you, your store's URL, etc). Reva uses the content in your email and any prompt you give it. It doesn’t scan your product catalog (yet), but you can add external links (to your store, for example), and copy/paste additional details into your prompt for even better results. Reva does not store anything after the email is generated, the email is the final result.

Does Reva Use My Customer’s Data?

No, Reva does not have access to that in the editor. If you enter or paste customer data into the prompt (not recommended!), Reva can use that, but Reva does not access customer data in your store unless you provide it explicitly.

Pro Tips on Getting Excellent Results with Reva/AI

  1. Be specific in your prompt. Instead of “rewrite this,” try “make this sound like it’s written by a skincare expert.” You can always ask Reva to “try again” for a new version.
  2. Combine prompts for more powerful results: e.g., “Match my color scheme and rewrite this like a high-end fashion brand.”
  3. Use external references with Reva's browser tool, e.g. "Read the examples at https://site.com and then change the email body copy to match the style of the best one"
  4. Guide Reva with specifics and context, such as "You are a world-class ecommerce copywriter who understands CRO, marketing psychology and DTC sales tactics. Using the AIDA framework, write me a long form email that best sells the product XYZ from https://mystore.com/products/my-product"
  5. Work on a copy of an existing (or test) campaign until you're happy with the results. Reva is good, but sometimes the first result isn't always what you want and you can't "go back" to the old versions of what you had before. Start with a copy or duplicate of something and try your prompts on that, so you can always revert to whatever you started with in case it's not working out.
  6. Add an image to your prompt using the attachment option (paperclip icon). Works great for providing "inspiration" when combined with the right prompt like "Using the attached image for inspiration, make my email's color scheme more like a tropical beach product vibe"

The more information you provide Reva, the better the output Reva can produce.
