Recapture supports WooCommerce, Easy Digital Downloads, Shopify, CartHook, Magento 1 and Magento 2.  Instructions for installing each are below:

Setting up Recapture for WooCommerce is very quick and painless.  Like most integrations in WordPress, we came packaged as a Plugin from the WordPress.org repository.

How to Install the Plugin from the Repository

  1. Login to your admin dashboard in WordPress as an administrator
  2. Go Plugins->Add New
  3. In the upper right corner, find the search box:
  4. Once it appears in the search results, click the Install Now button:
  5. When it's done, click the Activate button
  6. Skip to the "Activating Recapture" section below.

How to Install the Plugin manually

  1. Download the ZIP to your local computer (you may receive this manually from the Support team for a quick-fix)
  2. Login to your admin dashboard in WordPress as an administrator
  3. Go Plugins->Add New
  4. At the top, click the "Upload Plugin" button:
  5. Click "Browse" and find the ZIP file you need to upload on your local computer

Activating Recapture

Once you have the plugin installed, you'll need to connect to a Recapture account.  This is easy to do.

  1. When your installation is complete, you should end up on this page:
    1. If you don't see that, you can navigate there manually.  Select "Recapture" on the left hand side menu:
  2. Click Connect to Recapture.  Your admin email and username will be used to automatically create an account for Recapture.  First, we'll verify the details:
    1. To complete things, you'll need to:
      1. Add a password
      2. Accept the terms of service and privacy policy
      3. Click "Get Started"
  3. When you do that, you'll end up in the Recapture dashboard with a checklist of things to complete your setup:
  4. You'll want to click on "Set your currency and timezone" and select the appropriate choice for you.
  5. After that, click on "Activate an abandoned cart campaign".  This will turn on the emails to start collecting lost revenue.  THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP, so don't forget it!

What's next?

Once you've installed the plugin and connected your Recapture account to your store, at a bare minimum, you'll want to activate your email campaigns
You may also want to:
  • Setup email collectors for email popups on your site (to build a newsletter list and increase email collection rates)
  • Turn on the Add to Cart email popup which asks customers for their email when they add an item to cart (improves your recovery rates)
